About the role

Coal mining experience is mandatory as the successful candidate will be supervising our diesel tradesmen, the need to have extensive experience across all heavy equipment is paramount to succeed in this role.
Reporting to the Diesel Manager the successful Lead Diesel Supervisor will have the following to align with our core business expectations:

  • Supervise and instruct personnel within the immediate team to meet planned outcomes and hold members of the team accountable to expected standards of behaviour and performance;
  • Monitor tasks being carried out by the immediate team as well as contracting support to ensure they are undertaken in a safe manner and comply with applicable policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Lead by example by providing visible and credible directions to achieve a safe and achievement orientated approach to work;
  • Identify and communicate risks associated with health and safety as well as environmental impacts;
  • Oversee people management issues in an area of responsibility including input to training and development of team members;
  • As required, contribute to the planning and allocation of resources within an area of responsibility.

You will need:

  • Relevant Trade Experience (Qualification)
  • 5+ Years' experience working in a mining environment
  • 5+ Years' experience working in a supervisory role
  • Experience in Excavator and Drill shutdown planning and execution
  • Demonstrated background experience working with Terex, Liebherr and Hitachi excavators
  • Atlas Copco and Sandvik drill experience is desirable
  • Computer Literacy
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills which will help to effectively manage tradesman
  • Have the proven ability to liaise with both management and clients
  • Uncompromising attitude to safety
