Safety Lift Solutions (SLS) is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join our specialist team delivering major component change-outs, machine jacking operations, and heavy lift projects on large mining excavators and shovels across Australia.

This is an opportunity to move beyond routine maintenance and develop advanced skills in specialised heavy mechanical, hydraulic, and lifting operations while working alongside experienced engineering and project teams.

If you're looking for variety, this role offers extensive travel throughout Australia. Our crews regularly fly to mine sites and project locations nationwide, often working in a different town, region, or operation each week. No two projects are the same, providing exposure to a wide range of equipment, sites, and technical challenges.

About the Role

You will be involved in the safe execution of complex maintenance and machine relocation projects, working in accordance with approved lift plans, jacking methodologies, and site safety systems.

As SLS continues to expand nationally, this role offers genuine opportunities for progression into technical specialist, supervisory, and leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Major component change-outs and machine de-decking
• Undercarriage jacking and support system installation
• Slew bearing replacements and track frame change-outs
• Circular and XY milling operations
• Machine recoveries and full machine relocations
• Hydraulic system setup, troubleshooting, and controlled load movements
• Compliance with lift plans, isolations, and site safety requirements
• Working collaboratively with site personnel, engineers, and project teams

About You

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter
• Experience working on large mining excavators and heavy mobile equipment
• Strong hydraulic and heavy mechanical aptitude
• Interest in specialised lifting, jacking, and major component replacement work
• Strong commitment to safety and risk management
• Ability to work independently and within a small specialist team
• Willingness to travel extensively and work across multiple project locations
