Line Borer – Casual | Ongoing Work Available

We are currently seeking experienced and safety-focused Line Borers for casual site-based positions across various rosters, with ongoing work available for the right candidates.

About the Role

As a skilled Line Borer, you will be responsible for repairing and reclaiming worn pin bores, pivot points, and housings on heavy machinery using portable line boring and onsite machining equipment. You will play a critical role in reducing equipment downtime by restoring components to OEM specifications while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

This role will involve working across multiple sites and rosters, with opportunities for ongoing and long-term work.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform onsite line boring and milling of heavy equipment components
• Operate portable line boring equipment, welders, lathes, and precision tooling
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Measure and inspect machined components using precision instruments
• Diagnose faults and perform maintenance on machinery and equipment
• Use laser alignment and measuring equipment
• Complete required paperwork, reports, permits, and safety documentation
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Travel to various work sites as required
• Work autonomously and within a team environment
• Follow all company, client, and legislative safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Relevant Trade Qualification – Certificate III
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in mining or heavy earthmoving industries
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Reliable with a strong work ethic

Highly Regarded

• LR, MR or HR Driver’s Licence
• Forklift, Dogging, Rigging, EWP or Crane tickets
• Working at Heights
• Confined Space
• Gas Test Atmospheres
• Experience with onsite machining and laser alignment equipment
