FMS Group is currently seeking technically advanced Diesel Fitters, to fill positions at one of our mine sites situated in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.   

You will be working a roster of 21 days on, 14 days off. Day Shift Only. Successful Applicants to commence early Feb/late Mar 2025.

Your Skills and Experience:

To be considered for the role, you must have the following:

  • Trade qualified, minimum +6 years’ continuous Heavy Mining Equipment experience
  • Ability to create and deliver technical solutions
  • Proven ability to deliver continuous improvement and implement best practices is a must
  • Truck Shop
    • Large CAT Trucks, specifically 789’s, B, C & D series & 777F’s
    • Proficient in CAT Diagnostics, Transmissions, Hydraulics, Torque converters and drive lines
    • In-depth knowledge of EUI Fuel systems with the ability to diagnose and repair
    • In-depth Knowledge of the 3500 series CAT engines specifically the 3516B’s & 3516C’s
  • Dozer Shop:
    • D10 Dozers
    • 992 & Small CAT Loaders
    • 16M, 18M & 24M Graders
    • 336 Excavators
  • U/G Workshop
    • CAT Trucks, AD45, AD55 & AD60
    • R2900G Loaders
  • Experience with CAT SIL II, CAT SIS, SAP and Microsoft systems highly desirable
  • Willingness to mentor the national workforce to assist with further developing their skills is mandatory
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a multinational team environment
  • Understand cultural respect and awareness
  • A genuine commitment to safety
  • Australian and New Zealand citizens/residents will only be considered

Successful applicants must:

  • Hold a current Passport (with at least 12 months validity)
  • Be able to pass a medical examination and an Australian Federal Police Clearance
  • Have a Working Resident Permit approved before commencement (organised by FMS Group)
