General Manager – West Coast Operations

FMS Group is looking for an experienced and operationally driven General Manager – West Coast Operations to lead the continued growth, operational performance and strategic direction of our West Coast Division.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished mining professional who can bring together people leadership, operational excellence, commercial performance and client relationships to deliver sustainable business growth.

About the Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team and key stakeholders, you will take accountability for the safety, financial and operational performance of the West Coast Division.

You'll lead a large team and work closely with clients, suppliers and internal support functions to ensure the division consistently delivers safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes.

Your focus will extend beyond day-to-day operations. You'll identify opportunities to grow the business, strengthen client partnerships, improve systems and processes, develop our people and build the capability of the division for the future.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Lead the overall operational performance of the West Coast Division
• Drive a strong safety-first culture, ensuring HSEQ standards are embedded across the operation
• Take ownership of divisional P&L, budgets, profitability and commercial performance
• Develop and execute strategies to grow revenue, expand the customer base and diversify the division
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers and stakeholders
• Identify new market opportunities, industry trends and potential business risks
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team and promote accountability and continuous improvement
• Oversee resource planning, operational delivery and workforce performance
• Manage contracts, variations, commercial negotiations and operational risk
• Monitor divisional KPIs and implement improvement initiatives where required
• Provide clear, accurate and timely reporting to senior leadership
• Champion FMS Group's values and create a positive, collaborative and accountable workplace culture

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a motivated leader who combines strong operational capability with genuine people leadership.

You will ideally have:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in mining operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management position
• Demonstrated experience managing P&L, budgets and commercial outcomes
• A proven track record of leading teams and improving operational performance
• Strong understanding of the mining industry, market dynamics and competitive landscape
• High-level financial and commercial acumen
• Strong knowledge of WHS requirements and risk management
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrated business development and client relationship management capability
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to operational challenges
• The ability to make sound decisions, take ownership and lead with accountability
• A current C Class Driver's Licence

Qualifications or training in frontline/leadership management, MBA, First Aid, mental health awareness or similar will be highly regarded.
