FMS Group is growing our WA machining crews and we're looking for experienced Line Borers for a variety of upcoming Field Service, local and FIFO opportunities.

We're building a strong crew of skilled tradespeople who can jump onto projects as work becomes available, with opportunities across major WA mining operations and Perth metropolitan workshops.

Current Opportunities

FIFO & Field Service – WA

• $80–$95 per hour, depending on experience

• Ad hoc work across various WA mine sites

• Flexible rosters and project durations

• Planned maintenance, shutdowns, breakdowns and repair campaigns

• Opportunities to work across major mining clients and heavy mobile equipment

Local Work – Perth Metro

• Line boring and machining projects across Perth

• Workshop and site-based repair work

• Flexible engagements depending on project requirements

• Opportunity to combine local work with FIFO assignments

Job Overview

• Complete on-site line boring, bore welding and precision machining repairs

• Reclaim worn or damaged bores, pin housings, bushes and pivot points

• Perform bore alignment, machining, dimensional checks and tolerance verification

• Set up, align and operate portable line boring and machining equipment

• Undertake repairs to excavator attachments, buckets, booms, frames and structural components

• Interpret technical drawings, measurements and repair specifications

• Complete quality checks and ensure repairs meet required tolerances

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in mobile line boring and machining

• Previous mining, heavy equipment or field service experience

• Competence in equipment setup, bore reclamation and precision measurement

• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot on-site repairs

• Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality workmanship

• Current Australian Driver's Licence

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and DAS

• Strong commitment to safety
